A: This is most often a result of a missing .NET Framework or DirectX dependency. To install our applications the following general setup procedures should be performed in the following order.
1. If you have not already done so download and install the latest version of the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 or later for .NET applications from
here. 2. Download and install the DirectX upgrade from
here. (Note, the .NET Framework must be present prier to installing DirectX as the managed DirectX components our games depend on can only be installed with an existing copy of the .NET Framework on your computer.)
3. Now, install the USA Games software product on to your computer.
Q: What is the Microsoft .NET Framework?
A: The Microsoft .NET Framework is an advanced framework of libraries (APIs) for the Microsoft Windows operating system used for rapid development of applications, and for easy cross-platform portability of .NET enabled applications.
Q: What is Microsoft DirectX?
A: Microsoft DirectX is an advanced suite of multimedia application programming interfaces (APIs) built into the Microsoft Windows operating system. DirectX provides a standard development platform for Windows-based PCs by enabling software developers to access specialized hardware features without having to write hardware-specific code. This technology was first introduced by Microsoft in 1995 and is a recognized standard for multimedia and gaming applications on the Microsoft Windows platform.
Q: What do I need to run one of your games on my computer?
A: Your computer should meet these general system requirements in order for our games to run properly on your computer.
You should be running one of the following operating systems: Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7. Windows XP SP3 or later recommended.
Depending on your operating system Your computer should have at least a 1 GHZ Pentium or AMD processor or better, 256 MB to 1 GB of available ram, a stereo multi-channel soundcard, and a set of stereo speakers or headphones. Stereo headphones recommended for the best audio experience.
In addition to the above system requirements you must have the Microsoft .NET Framework libraries version 3.5 or later for .NET applications. If you do not already have this update you can obtain it from USA Games
here,
and install it.
You will also need the latest Managed DirectX updates (August 2007 or later.) You may install this update from
here.
Q: I downloaded one of your games and it has no graphics. Why is there no graphics?
A: We are mainly designing these games to be audio based, and their intended use is to be played by blind and low vision gamers. Although we would welcome sighted gamers our goal at USA Games is to design high-quality games for those without sight, and who would not have access to regular video games for the PC. Since our customers would not require a graphical interface we have chosen to focus our attention on an audio based environment.
Q: How do I become a beta tester for USA Games?
A: USA Games currently has a handpicked team of skilled testers that tests all of our games during the early stages of development. Later once the game reaches a stable development release we will periodically release public test builds to insure maximum compatibility and stability for as many end users as possible.
